To Create Renditions of Files Within a Document

A rendition is a representation of a file published to PDF format. You can publish renditions from one or more files in a document. You can also add watermarks to renditions.

In order to create a rendition, the following must be true:
  • The Rendition Service must be enabled for this community. For more information, see "To Enable the Rendition Service for Your Community", in the AssetWise System Management Console Help.
  • You must have permission to modify the document that contains the original file.

Follow these steps to create renditions of files within a document.

Note: If the Files topic is not visible, refer to "Updating Layouts" in the ALIM Web Implementation Guide.
  1. Open the document or document copy containing the files for which you want to make a rendition.
  2. Expand the Files topic , and then click Render ( ). For example,

  3. Select a Rendition Output Format from the list.
  4. Select the Rendition Copy from the list.
  5. If you want the renditions to include a watermark, select Watermark.
    Note: Watermark text is defined in AssetWise Director. For more information about watermarks, see "System Defaults - General", in the AssetWise Director Help.
  6. Select each file for which you want to create a rendition.
  7. When you are finished, click Render.

    The renditions are created and added to the Files topic for this document.
